Cosmetology

The Ohio State Board of Cosmetology licenses the cosmetology program. The principal objective is to instruct students in subjects to qualify them to pass the state board license examination and thereafter render the best possible service to patrons. Classwork includes an understanding of fields such as bacteriology, anatomy, physiology, and business management, as well as trade information and current trends in styling. The complete course is 1,500 hours set by the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology, and attendance is mandatory to meet examination and license requirements. Students are required to take the state examination before receiving their cosmetology credit.

College Credits:
Cosmetology students have the ability to earn up to 17 business credits with North Central State College. For a student to earn these credits the student must have a cosmetology license and pass all of the required courses.
